What are Veneers?
Veneers are thin shells that cover the front of your teeth that help to improve the appearance of your teeth. They can be adjusted by size, shape, color, and length to help give your mouth a natural look to your teeth.
Types of Veneers
The two most popular options are the porcelain and composite resin options.
-Porcelain veneers are more durable and are considered the best option for those who have teeth that are discolored or misaligned. Porcelain can last up to 15 years when properly cared for.
-Composite veneers are more affordable but tend not to last as long. They usually last between 4-8 years before having to be replaced.
The great thing is that they don’t require any special care. You just have to practice good oral hygiene, including brushing, flossing, and rinsing with mouthwash. It is also recommended that you avoid stain-causing foods to keep your veneers and teeth the same color.
They are best for people who experience the following dental issues:
-Discolored teeth
-Worn-down teeth
-Damaged teeth
-Misaligned or uneven teeth
-Teeth with gaps in between them
In most cases, veneers are not an ideal solution for serious misalignments or irregularities. They are also not the best option for people with unhealthy teeth or those who grind their teeth or clench their jaw often.
Here are some of the Pros of having Veneers-
-Natural tooth appearance
-Work well with the gum tissue
-Stain-resistant (for porcelain)
-Easily and painlessly whiten teeth
-Non-invasive and don’t require the extensive shaping before the procedure
